Exotics... Part 2

Here we have one of our most popular items during the summer. Jumbo Donut Peaches! These beauties are a flattened variety of peaches also known as Saturn Peaches. They have a gorgeous white flesh just like normal white peaches but in a form that easily fills your mouth with sweet juicy meat every bite. They're also a great conversational starter every time you take it out for a snack.

Lychee nuts are available too right now! Underneath that rough rind exterior is a translucet sweet white meat. Beware squirts of juice have been known to shoot out when going in for a bite. These are best served chill on a summer evening.

Exotics...

California Cherimoyas are in this week. The fruit is fleshy and soft, sweet, white in color, with a sherbet-like texture. In many opinions it has a flavor similar to a blend of banana, pineapple, and strawberry. Mark Twain called the cherimoya "the most delicious fruit known to men."

Rainier Cherries are also in. These are the pinnacle of cherry varieties. They are cultivated from a cross of Bing and Van varieties. Rainier cherries are known for their sweet creamy-yellow flesh.

Cactus Pears are one of the most unique fruits we carry. Thankfully their prickly bits have been removed and are ready to be eaten. A special fact about these fruits is that they contain a melody of medically relevant compounds that have been known for their health benefits.

Last but not least are the California Peaches. Although not exotic, they're a sweet staple of any summer fruit salad.

Second are Sesame Snacks. These are healthy alternatives to the standard candy bar. Great on hikes and trips.

Freshness of the Week

Pink Lady apples are in this week. These apples are a cross between Lady Williams and Golden Delicious apples giving them a blushed appearance. They take the best attributes of both varieties producing a crisp apple with a sweet-tart flavor.

We wanted to offer a friendly reminder to all of our customers that we carry fresh Basil by the bunch. Perfect for soups, stir-fry, deep-fry, and any other dish imaginable.

We're also carrying locally grown Heather, an excellent ornamental addition to any garden.
